Held Annually the Friday before Thanksgiving

Main Street Lights: Community Christmas Tree Lighting
November 22, 2024

Join us from beginning at-5:00pm for festive holiday music.

Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 pm

Experience the Joy of the start of the holiday season with us.  Holiday music is performed by Newberry school choirs, a special message from our Mayor, and the traditional countdown to light the town! The Newberry Downtown Development Association will host its annual Cookie Walk from 4-8pm on Main Street before and after the tree lighting.  Take a time out from the excitement after the tree lighting head to the Ritz Theater to watch a screening of a select holiday movie.

Santa's Tour of Newberry

On select Fridays in December Santa will tour Newberry's neighborhoods via Fire Truck! All tours end on Downtown's Main Street at 6 pm ! Follow the links below for route details:

The Newberry Arts Center

Christmas Crafts for kids offered at the Newberry Arts Center during the North Pole Nights from 5:00-7:00.  Rain or shine bring your children to the Newberry Arts Center at 1200 Main Street in Newberry to make a Christmas Craft with one of our fabulous teachers. Kids can make and take a fun festive holiday themed craft. This children's activity is free, we just want all to have fun!

Community Hall & Memorial Park

Experience the wonders of the North Pole! Enjoy fluttering faux snow in Memorial Park and crafts courtesy of the Newberry County Chamber of Commerce. Before arrival, all children are invited to write letters to Santa, at home, to bring and place in the NEW letters to Santa mailbox! Santa will reply to 3 letters weekly!

Downtown Holiday Open House

Downtown Newberry

The Newberry Downtown Development Association invites you to attend their Holiday Open House! Downtown shops and stores will be rolling out the welcome mat for you. Explore what downtown has to offer during the weeks of festivity. Shops will be open for you to find early Christmas gifts or just the thing you need for your Thanksgiving centerpiece.
